West Ham vs Chelsea: Antonio Conte reveals why one Blues player needs protecting
ANTONIO CONTE says he wants to protect Victor Moses after the wing-back recently returned from injury.
Victor Moses is on the bench for Chelsea
Moses was named on the bench by Conte to face West Ham with Davide Zappacosta playing at right wing-back.
The Nigeria international suffered a hamstring injury in October which took longer than expected to recover from.
But he made his return as a substitute in the 1-0 win over Swansea at the end of last month and started against Atletico in midweek.
However, Conte wants to be patient with the defender's recovery.
Victor Moses in action against Atletico Madrid
Conte told Sky Sports: “It’s rotation. Against Atletico Madrid, [Marcos] Alonso was on the bench.
“Against Newcastle, Zappacosta was on the bench.
“It’s about rotation with so many games in a row when you spend a lot of energy.
“I’m very happy because Victor has recovered very well from a bad injury.
“And now we need to protect him.”
