Rangers red card: Aberdeen legend blasts referee over Ryan Jack sending off
RANGERS were unlucky to have Ryan Jack sent off by a trigger-happy referee, reckons Aberdeen legend Willie Miller.
Rangers star Ryan Jack, who joined from Aberdeen in the summer, is sent off
Jack was dismissed after a challenge on Aberdeen’s Stevie May left the Dons player on the ground.
The fromer Aberdeen star, who left for Ibrox in the summer, won the ball but followed through to stamp on May’s ankle.
Referee Willie Collum immediately showed Jack a red for the nasty-looking incident.
But Miller claims the ref should have considered the situation before brandishing the red.
“I am not sure about that,” Miller said on the BBC.
“I think he has over-hit it a little bit, but he has got the ball and played it away.
“I think Willie Collum has put himself up there again, making that call.
“I think he should have thought about it a little bit.
“That was one of the fastest red cards he has ever issued, and there's been a few.”

May could not continue and was replaced by Nicky Maynard.
Rangers scored almost immediately after going down to 10 men, Josh Windass tapping home to double their advantage.
Frank Ross hit back for the hosts but Rangers held on for a second Scottish Premiership win over Aberdeen in five days.
After the game Rangers’ interim manager Graeme Murty said: “Looking at the tackle, it was there to be won and he (Ryan Jack) gets to it first.
“I want to talk about the positives."
Gers striker Kenny Miller said: "We’ve gained some ground [in the league] so I’m delighted. To come up here and get a fighting victory was outstanding.
"It must give us a bit of belief. If we show the battling qualities that we have in the last couple of games we can only head in one direction."

As for the game itself, Aberdeen boss Derek McInnes - who has been linked with the vacant Rangers post - said: "I thought we deserved something from the game.
“They got a set-play goal that’s very disappointing. It gives them a bit of impetus.
“I thought we were good value in the second half. The sending-off changes things and then their only real threat is on the counter - and it’s a ridiculous goal to lose; we were sloppy in midfield.
“I thought we deserved something from it. They defended well and the keeper has made a couple of saves. But it was a really motivated and committed performance."
