Leeds United news: Victor Orta wants to strike bargain deal for Scottish sensation
LEEDS UNITED are interested in Hearts wonderkid Harry Cochrane.
Leeds are interested in Hearts midfielder Harry Cochrane
Midfielder Cochrane, 16, has made six appearances for the Scottish Premiership outfit since making his senior debut in September.
According to The Sun on Sunday, Leeds’ director of football Victor Orta is desperate to lure him to Elland Road.
And it’s claimed Orta is hoping to strike a deal worth £500,000 plus bonuses.
Cochrane, under contract at Tynecastle until 2020, has made five league appearances for Hearts.
And he’s been tipped to reach the top by Jambos team-mate John Souttar, who himself made his senior debut at the age of 16.
“Harry is an unbelievable player in training on the ball,” Souttar said. “For a 16-year-old he has come into the side and nothing fazes him.
“I think he can go wherever he wants to go. He’s that good.
“You don’t want to big him up too much, but he’s not the type of lad who will get carried away. He’s a top boy, always smiling and positive.”
Leeds are expected to continue spending in January, despite their hectic activity in the summer transfer window.
Leeds boss Thomas Christiansen
Meanwhile, Leeds boss Thomas Christiansen insists he is not about to be sacked.
Pressure is building on Christiansen after Leeds lost 3-1 to Brentford at Griffin Park to make it six defeats in their last seven Championship games.
The Whites’ next fixture sees them take on Middlesbrough after the international break.
And when asked if he would be in charge for the clash, Christiansen said: “Yes.”
