Arsenal news: Arsene Wenger opens up on Thomas Lemar and Riyad Mahrez transfer speculation
ARSENAL boss Arsene Wenger says there is no truth to transfer speculation linking Thomas Lemar and Riyad Mahrez with a move to the Emirates.
Thomas Lemar was heavily linked with Arsenal in the summer
Lemar nearly joined Arsenal in the summer but the Gunners ran out of time to get the proposed £92million move over the line.
While Mahrez has long been linked with a transfer to north London and he wanted to leave Leicester in the summer but no club came in for the 2016 Player of the Year.
Reports this week have claimed Arsenal may rekindle their interest in Lemar in January.
But Wenger played down those reports ahead of his side's Europa League clash with Red Star Belgrade.
Arsene Wenger ruled out a move for Riyad Mahrez
When asked if there was any truth to the Lemar reports, Wenger said: “No. At the moment, I have a big squad.
“The problem for me is to keep everyone together until the end of the season.
“Do we go on the transfer market in January? I don't know yet.”
When asked about Mahrez, Wenger added: “No.”
