Real Madrid president Perez is said to have entered the changing room at the Estadi Montilivi to lambast his squad over the result.
Real’s defeat saw them slip eight points behind rivals Barcelona in the La Liga title race.
And Perez did not hold back his anger at the chasm that has emerged between Spain’s two biggest clubs.
According to Spanish newspaper Marca, the 70-year-old went down into the bowels of the stadium and told Cristiano Ronaldo and co. exactly what he thought of the performance.
He is said to have insisted that manager Zinedine Zidane and the players rekindle the desire that won Real the league and Champions League last season.
Zidane’s side have been lethargic at times this season, with Gareth Bale and Karim Benzema both spending time out injured.
Ronaldo has recovered from his spat with Perez and the club over the summer transfer window but has scored just two goals in his last five outings.
Real play Tottenham in a crunch Champions League tie on Wednesday night knowing a win at Wembley will see them through to the knockout stage of the competition.
The Bernabeu club successfully defended their European crown last season and their league form suggests another Champions League run could be their best chance of another trophy this term.
