Sheffield United: Chris Wilder denies contract clause for Liverpool target David Brooks
SHEFFIELD UNITED did not include a release clause in David Brooks’ new contract.
Sheffield United: David Brooks signed a four-year deal
Brooks, 20, put pen to paper on a four-year deal earlier this week amid interest from Premier League giants Liverpool.
Anfield chiefs were reportedly preparing a £10m offer ahead of the January transfer window.
But Blades boss Chris Wilder revealed: “There is no buy-out clause in the contract.
“It is just about time (length of the contract).”
Brooks has established himself as a regular for United this term and is targeting back-to-back promotions.

Sheffield United: Liverpool are monitoring David Brooks
“Obviously the aim here is to get to the Premier League,” he said. “That’s what the target is.
“It’s a difficult task and we just want to do the best we can. We’ll keep pushing on as a team and see where it takes us.
“It’s a great club, it’s obviously on the rise and everything is going in the right direction. That’s why I want to be a part of it.”
Meanwhile, United have been handed an injury boost over Kieron Freeman’s injury.
It was feared that full-back Freeman could miss the season after colliding with team-mate Cameron Carter-Vickers.
But Wilder said: “Kieron will only be out for six to eight weeks, which is really good news.
“He’s got another scan, because there is still a little bit of swelling and they need to test the ligament on the side of his knee.
“It’s exceeded all our hopes, because the fear is when you dislocate your knee there’s all sorts of damage.”
