Speaking after beating Wales during the international break, Ireland manager Martin O’Neill said of the World Cup draw: “We may lack a few things, we know we do, but we also know that courage is not one of them.
“That is instilled in them, that is something we have always had.
“We have had some disappointments along the way, against Georgia and Serbia last month, but I always knew we would bounce back.”

Ireland beat Wales to secure a World Cup playoff spot
Northern Ireland boss Michael O’Neill, meanwhile, is optimistic his side can get past whoever they draw.
"There's one massive hurdle left and it's hard to say the draw will be kind," he said.
"Of the four teams we can get, most people would want to avoid the Italians and possibly Croatia. [But] the fact we're there and have the opportunity is fantastic and one we can enjoy.
"This is something we can't fear, we have to embrace it and be positive. We're the smallest nation there, we're probably the least-favoured nation, but this team has continued to surprise."
