Leeds United news: Michael Gray has slammed Pablo Hernandez's penalty
Leeds were handed the chance to nick a point with an injury-time spot-kick but winger Hernandez’s tame effort was easily stopped by Royals keeper Vito Mannone.
Speaking on Football on 5: The Championship, Gray said: “When you’ve got a chance to get back in the game, you’ve got to put your laces through it.
“I mean that is a terrible penalty.”
Leeds boss Thomas Christiansen defended Hernandez after the defeat.
“This is a lottery,” Christiansen said.
“When you’re kicking the penalty there’s the possibility to score or miss.
“With the bad day we had today, we took the possibility not to the score but I will not complain about him.
“We need players who take this responsibility.
“He took it in the last minute but I want everyone to take responsibility during the 90 minutes.”
