Man Utd news: Romelu Lukaku will struggle against the elite sides - Danny Murphy
DANNY MURPHY believes Romelu Lukaku still has a tendency to go missing against big teams.
Lukaku took his tally for the season to seven goals from as many games in all competitions with his goal in Manchester United’s 4-0 win over Everton yesterday.
He has certainly settled into life at Old Trafford under Jose Mourinho quickly, but United are yet to play any of the top six sides in the Premier League from last season.
Last season, 21 of his 25 top flight goals came against the bottom 13 teams in the league.
His biggest test will come next month when United play Liverpool and Tottenham within the space of two weeks.
You get less chances against the better defenders
So far he has proven more than capable to perform on the big stage, but Murphy believes the Belgium international is at the right place to improve his fortune against the so-called bigger teams.
“You get less chances against the better defenders,” Murphy said on Match of the Day 2 when speaking about Lukaku.
“What I will say about him because he’s young and playing with such good players, you think he’s just going to learn and get better.”

Romelu Lukaku hasn't scored a league goal against Chelsea yet
The 24-year-old has a relatively good record against Liverpool and Manchester City in the league, scoring five and four times respectively.
But he is yet to find the net against his former club Chelsea in six league matches and has just one goal against Tottenham in eight top flight games.
