Man Utd Everton: Wayne Rooney will get a great reception from Red Devils fans - Upson
WAYNE ROONEY will get an excellent reception from Manchester United fans when he returns to Old Trafford.
Wayne Rooney will return to Old Trafford for the first time tomorrow as an Everton player
Those are the thoughts of former Arsenal defender Matt Upson.
Rooney heads back to Old Trafford with Everton on Sunday (1:30pm) for the first time.
The former England international will make an emotional return to United with the Toffees where he gave 13 years of service.
And Upson is convinced United fans won’t boo Rooney.
“I expect a really good reception from the Manchester United fans,” Upson told the Premier League Show.
“Whether he scores or not - what he’s done for the club see him getting a good reception regardless.”

When asked whether Rooney will have thought of his potential goal celebration should he score, Upson added: “Yes I would have thought so.
“That maturity in age will make him take a step back.
“He might score and have a little idea of what to do.”

United go into the game on the back of a 3-0 win against Basel in midweek in the Champions League.
They will be looking to get back to winning ways in the Premier League after they were held to a 2-2 draw away to Stoke in their last league outing.
Everton meanwhile, will be desperate for a result after their disappointing 3-0 defeat at home to Tottenham last weekend.
