The two are currently on international duty with Spain, playing this evening as they thumped Lichtenstein 8-0.
And Spanish outlet Diario Gol claims De Gea wants to move to the Bernabeu.
In order to ensure a move happens, he has supposedly asked Ramos to help broker a transfer behind the scenes.
It is added that Real chief Florentino Perez wanted to sign De Gea this summer but manager Zinedine Zidane blocked a move.

Juventus goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon thinks Real are in safe hands with Keylor Navas behind the sticks.
"Real Madrid have not lacked anything over the past 10 years, as they have bought the best footballers," Buffon told Spanish outlet Marca.
"Keylor Navas is a great goalkeeper, despite what some say.
"They have won two Champions Leagues with him and he has often been important on the way to winning them.
"I don't believe there is a need to sign, as the results have shown that they are winning as it is."
