Chris Wood Statement: Leeds United striker confirms transfer plan, Burnley medical due
CHRIS WOOD has ruled himself out of Leeds United’s clash with Sunderland because of interest from a “Premier League team”.
Chris Wood has confirmed he wants to leave Leeds United
Burnley want to sign Wood and Leeds have accepted their £15million offer.
The Whites offered their star striker a new contract but he has rejected the three-year extension.
And he is set to have a medical at Burnley tomorrow.
“Due to strong interest from a Premier League team, the ongoing discussions with the club, and given it has always been my ambition to play at the highest level, I don’t feel it is right that I play today,” he wrote.

“I wish the team all the best and hope the lads can pick up three points.”
Wood scored on Leeds’ opening-day win over Bolton earlier this month but has failed to find the next in their last two outings.
The striker netted 27 Championship goals last term - 45 per cent of Leeds’ total league tally.
Leeds were said to be holding out for £20m for Wood but Burnley appear to have come to an agreement on a lower fee.
The Clarets are in the market for a new striker after selling Andre Gray to Watford.
