The Swede has made the headlines of late with reports suggesting Manchester United are pursuing his signature.
The winger has been mentioned as a potential alternative to Inter Milan's Ivan Perisic with United refusing to meet the Italian club's £48million valuation.
Italian outlet Calcio Mercato have suggested the Red Devils are weighing up a £44m move for Forsberg instead and have already made contact with his representatives.
But Forsberg has poured cold water on United's chances of signing him as he is planning to build on Lepzig's second-placed finish in the Bundesliga last term.

Responding to the uproar caused by him being linked to another club, he told German magazine Kicker: "I only answered a question from a journalist and my answer was that Bayern Munich are one of the biggest clubs such as Real [Madrid], Barca and Manchester [United].
"Have I said anything bad about Leipzig? I have always spoken positively about RB so I don’t understand the uproar.
"For me everything is good and I am fully motivated and focused and I want to have an even better season than the last with RB.”

The 25-year-old has been with the Bundesliga side since joining from Malmo in 2015 and has played a key part in their rise to the top of German football.
Forsberg, who scored eight goals and proved 19 assists in the league last season, is under contract with Leipzig until 2022.
