Bernard is the second French youngster to join United this week with Paris Saint-Germain talent Aliou Traore also signing.
The 16-year-old had a trial earlier this year and the Red Devils are said to have seen off competition for his signature from Juventus.
Belgian teenager Largie Ramazan has also moved to Old Trafford on a scholarship deal from League One side Charlton.
A club statement read: "Manchester United's Under-18 ranks for the 2017/18 campaign will be swelled by the addition of 10 youngsters into the group.
"With more additions still to be confirmed, the plans are taking shape ahead of the weekend flight to Austria for a pre-season training camp.
"Defender Di'Shon Bernard was formerly with Chelsea, while midfielder Ethan Galbraith has arrived from Linfield in Northern Ireland."
Kieran McKenna's side finished second in the Premier League U18 North division to rivals Manchester City last term.
