John Terry’s Chelsea send-off was self-induglent b******* - Stan Collymore
STAN COLLYMORE has slammed John Terry’s Chelsea send-off as ‘self-indulgent b*******’.
John Terry's emotional farewell speech
Terry brought the curtain down on a 22-year playing spell at Chelsea on Sunday in a 5-1 win against Sunderland.
The defender was given a guard of honour by his team-mates when he was substituted in the 26th minute and received a rapturous applause by the Stamford Bridge faithful.
Despite being the only skipper to captain his side to five Premier League titles, Collymore hated the way Terry’s farewell was conducted.
“When I heard it was self-orchestrated I just thought, ‘This is the biggest load of self-indulgent b******* I’ve ever heard of’,” Collymore told the Daily Mirror.
“I really like John. I like his captaincy and the way he has played his football.
“But it does give a little insight into his character and remind us that at times it does become a little bit about him.
“Sunday’s farewell, I’m afraid to say, was almost vomit-inducing.”
