West Ham told to stay away from injury-prone Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge
WEST HAM should rethink their interest in Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge, says former defender Matthew Upson.
Liverpool could sell Daniel Sturridge to West Ham this summer
Sturridge could leave Liverpool this summer after struggling for game time this season.
The England striker's injury problems have meant manager Jurgen Klopp has stayed faithful to other strikers for much of the campaign.
Liverpool are tipped to sign at least one new frontman this summer and are determined to keep Philippe Coutinho, Roberto Firmino and Divock Origi.
West Ham have been linked with a swoop for Sturridge as manager Slaven Bilic seeks to bolster his attack.
But former England and Hammers centre-back Upson believes the London Stadium club have enough injury worries on their hands with Andy Carroll.
“Both Andy Carroll and Daniel Sturridge bring a lot of great attributes to the team," Upson told Bwin.

Andy Carroll is also prone to injuries
"But the downside recently of Andy Carroll is that he’s not fit every game.
"And, given that reality, I’m not sure they can risk replacing him with another player who has struggled to stay fit.”
Sturridge, 27, last scored for Liverpool since 2 January and has not started in any of the Reds' last 15 matches.
Carroll has scored five goals in 2017.
