Alan Shearer reacts as Newcastle win Championship and Blackburn relegated to League One
ALAN SHEARER has blamed Blackburn’s owners for their relegation to League One.
Newcastle United win the Championship title
Newcastle won the Championship after Aston Villa’s late equaliser against Brighton pushed them a point clear at the top.
The Magpies beat Barnsley 3-0 but will go up to the Premier League as winners after Villa’s 1-1 draw with Brighton.
Nottingham Forest and Birmingham both won to ensure survival, but Blackburn went down despite a 3-1 win at Brentford.
Alan Shearer played for both Newcastle and Blackburn

And England legend Alan Shearer, who won the Premier League with Blackburn in the 1994/95 season, was quick to condem their Indian owners Venky’s.
“Devastated for @rovers and for the fans. The owners deserve it,” Shearer tweeted.
Venky’s took over Blackburn in November 2010 and immediately fired Sam Allardyce, controversially replacing him with Steve Kean.

They were relegated from the Premier League to the Championship in May 2012 and now go down to League One under Tony Mowbray.
But Shearer was happier with Newcastle, the team he spent 10 years with before retiring in 2006.
The 46-year-old tweeted two trophies with Newcastle’s black and white colours.
