Thierry Henry criticises Man United star: Man City nearly scored because of him
THIERRY HENRY has criticised Anthony Martial's defensive work against Manchester City.
Man United Anthony Martial scores impressive last minute goal
The Arsenal legend was particularly scathing of his fellow Frenchman during a moment in the first half where Manchester City came close to scoring.
Martial failed to track full-back Pablo Zabaleta and the attack ended with Sergio Aguero just missing for the hosts.
And Henry wasn't impressed with what he saw from the Manchester United man.
Thierry Henry was critical of Anthony Martial's defending against Man City
Martial had to do way more than that. It could have been 1-0
"The man at the top of the screen Martial not doing his job," he said on Sky Sports.
"You can see they are in possession and he's not doing his job following Zabaleta.
"He's not even at it. He should win that, at least try to win it.
Thierry Henry says Anthony Martial should have done better to stop Sergio Aguero getting a chance
"He didn't and what a ball from De Bruyne.
"You would back him (Aguero) to put that in the back of the net, usually he does especially in games like this.
"Martial had to do way more than that. It could have been 1-0."
