Liverpool hero: Why Reds can finish above Arsenal and Man United in Champions League race
JOHN BARNES has backed Liverpool to beat Arsenal and Manchester United to the final Champions League spot.
Jurgen Klopp will guide Liverpool into the top four, according to John Barnes
Liverpool are in a three-way battle for fourth place says the former Reds winger with Chelsea, Tottenham and Manchester City nailed on.
And Barnes thinks Liverpool have enough, even with Sadio Mane out injured.
“They’ve got a better chance than Arsenal and Manchester United, so I think it’s going to be between those three for the final slot,” Bonus Code Bets ambassador Barnes told Express Sport.
Sadio Mane was injured against Everton and is out for the season
Jurgen Klopp's side will be without Sadio Mane for the rest of the season
“I think Chelsea, Manchester City and Tottenham are going to be in the top four, but I make Liverpool favourites for that fourth spot because the whole harmony at Arsenal isn’t right and Manchester United are a little bit away, so I think they’ve got a great chance of finishing in the top four.”
Mane picked up a season-ending injury in the Merseyside derby, after scoring the opening goal.
But Barnes believes Jurgen Klopp’s side have enough quality in reserve to finish above their rivals.
John Barnes spoke exclusively to John Barnes
“I think they’re strong enough without him,” he said.
“Of course he’s an important player and they do struggle without their important players but I think they’re strong enough.
“The Premier League is a difficult league and anybody can do anything so it’s going to be a difficult run in but Arsenal are having their problems, Manchester United are having their problems as well.”
