Early Arsenal team news: Midfield ace to miss Crystal Palace clash
ALEX IWOBI is out of Arsenal’s clash with Crystal Palace after appearing for the under-23s earlier today.
The Nigeria playmaker didn’t train with the first-team yesterday and was instead named in a strong team to play Reading this afternoon which included Rob Holding, Carl Jenkinson and January signing Cohen Bramall.
Striker Yaya Sanogo bagged a 19-minute hat-trick as Arsenal fought back from 2-0 down to win 5-2.
But Iwobi’s appearance for the reserve team comes as a surprise having been a first-team regular this season.
The 20-year-old was an unused substitute in last week’s 3-0 win over West Ham.

His last start for the Gunners came against Liverpool last month.
After a breakthrough campaign last year, Iwobi has had an indifferent season with just four goals and three assists in all competitions.
