MANCHESTER UNITED midfielder Juan Mata has reportedly undergone surgery on his groin.

The Spaniard did not arrive with his Manchester United team-mates at The Lowry Hotel this evening as the team met up before tomorrow's clash with West Brom.
And the Manchester Evening News report the 28-year-old may now miss the rest of the season after an operation on Thursday.
It is claimed Mata complained of soreness in his groin and a decision was quickly made to have surgery.
The news will come as a blow to United boss Jose Mourinho, who is already without several players for the game against the Baggies.

Paul Pogba, Phil Jones and Chris Smalling all have knocks while Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Ander Herrera are suspended.
