JURGEN KLOPP insists Liverpool could have beaten Manchester City at the Etihad.
Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp believes his side could have beaten Man City
James Milner put Liverpool ahead from the spot against his former club when Gael Clichy fouled Roberto Firmino with a high boot after the break.
But Kevin De Bruyne picked out Sergio Aguero, who fired first-time past Simon Mignolet to earn his side a point.
And Klopp wasn't too disappointed with the result.
James Milner opened the scoring for Liverpool from the spot
"To get a point at Manchester City for each team in the world is absolutely OK," Klopp told Sky Sports.
"There were a few situations where we couldn't defend their quality.
"We could have won this game, because we forced the goalkeeper into a few outstanding saves.
"We a phase between 50-70 where we had them and didn't close the game.
"We let them recover on the pitch, so they came back.
"They deserved the goal, but we could have scored more. Two highly motivated sides, both wanted to win until the last seconds."
