Lukaku has two years remaining on his current contract at Goodison Park, but Ferdinand reckons Everton should offload the striker this summer in order to get the best possible deal.
Ferdinand told BT Sport: “I don’t see him staying because if [his contract] goes down to a year then the price tag goes down.

“I think they’ll cash in this season because he’s made it apparent he wants to leave. His agent doesn’t mess about.
“More importantly he’s a guy who’s best mates with [Paul] Pogba. He’s seeing other friends and other players from the Belgium team go on and win things.
“He wants a step up and he wants to be part of that, he wants to be part of the conversation.”
