England Under-21 squad announced: Southampton star misses out but set for senior call-up
ENGLAND'S Under-21 squad for matches against Germany and Denmark has been announced.
James Ward-Prowse is set to be named in the senior England squad
Southampton star James Ward-Prowse is the standout absentee.
But the Under-21 captain has been announced in Gareth Southgate's senior squad.
Southgate is a known admirer of the midfielder having managed him at international level before during his time in charge of the U-21 side.
Marcus Rashford is expected to be named in the senior England squad
There is also no place for Manchester United's Marcus Rashford, who is also expected to make the senior cut.
Ward-Prowse's Saints team-mate Nathan Redmond has also been included.
Nathan Redmond has not been named in the Under-21 squad
