Bayer Leverkusen winger Julian Brandt is said to be a top target for Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp.
The Reds boss is said to know the 20-year-old well and wants to bring him to Anfield in the summer.
However, German magazine SportBild claim Bayern Munich have stolen a march on the competition by beginning talks for Brandt.

The report says negotiations between the Bundesliga champions and the winger are at an advanced stage.
Carlo Ancelotti is reportedly looking to bring the winger to the Allianz Arena next summer.
And Bayern will reportedly trigger a £10.8million release clause in his contract which comes into effect next year.
Brandt has made 30 appearances this season for Leverkusen, scoring three goals and providing seven assists.
He has four caps for Germany and was part of the silver-medal winning side at the Rio Olympics.
