LIVERPOOL had to shell out over £15million when Brendan Rodgers and his backroom team were sacked last season.

Rodgers was dumped in October 2015 after failing to convince FSG he could lead Liverpool to the title.
He was replaced by Jurgen Klopp who has taken the Reds back into the top four and flirted with a title challenge earlier this season.

But, in accounts filed at Companies House in London, it is revealed Liverpool paid £15,669,000 for ‘redundancy and associated costs’ for the 12 months up to May 31 2016.
Rodgers was sacked with two and a half years remaining on his contract while Sean O’Driscoll, Gary McAllister, Glen Driscoll and Chris Davies also lost their jobs.

Klopp’s new-look team have impressed fans and they got back on course on Saturday with a 3-1 win over Arsenal at Anfield.
Prior to that Liverpool had won just twice since the turn of the year and lost pace with Chelsea, Manchester City and Tottenham.
Rodgers meanwhile has led Celtic to a 27-point lead at the top in Scotland after 27 games.
