Jurgen Klopp admission after Liverpool’s win over Arsenal: This decision didn't matter
JURGEN KLOPP doesn’t think Liverpool were given a big advantage against Arsenal following Arsene Wenger's decision to drop Alex Sanchez.
The best of Arsenal’s Alexis Sanchez
Liverpool ran out comfortable 3-1 winners against Arsenal at Anfield yesterday.
The main talking point from the game was Arsene Wenger’s decision to leave Sanchez out of his starting XI.
Although the Chilean ace came on for Francis Coquelin at half-time, Wenger was made to pay a high price for his decision.
Olivier Giroud was frequently isolated, as Arsenal struggled to contain the Reds in the first-half.
But far from acknowledging the strange selection decision, Klopp didn’t think it threw Liverpool too much.
Alexis Sanchez only made it onto the pitch at half-time
Jurgen Klopp insists Liverpool were prepared for whatever Arsenal threw at them
If he starts, then we could have already a better solution from the beginning
“You can imagine, we did it with Alexis Sanchez in the line-up, but then when [Olivier] Giroud is on the pitch, it’s a different game because they cross more often,” Klopp said.
“For us, it was not a big advantage; as I said, Alexis had a big impact on the game, but because we had to adapt to it.
“If he starts, then we could have already a better solution from the beginning.”
Liverpool jumped to third in the Premier League table courtesy of the result.
