MANCHESTER UNITED boss Jose Mourinho has conceded he was worried more about the EFL Cup final against Southampton than any of the other League Cup finals he has presided over.

Mourinho has now lifted the League Cup four times, equalling the feats of Sir Alex Ferguson and Brian Clough in the competition.

But the Portuguese tactician thinks the clash against the Saints was always bound to be ‘tricky’.
“This game was a tricky final, Southampton are a club that is growing,” Mourinho said.
“They have good players, a good coach, their fans were the same number as our fans, so this was a tricky kind of final.
“I was afraid of this one more than the other finals when you know another giant is the other side. This one was tricky."
