Rostov were founded in 1930 and play at the Olimp-2 stadium.
The ground holds just 15,840 seats.
They are managed Ivan Daniliants, who took over after being assistant in the summer.
He is 64-years-old and has previously worked at Rubin Kazan and Moldova.
Last season they finished second in the Russian Premier League, behind CSKA Moscow, in their best season to date.
Rostov are currently seventh in the league during the winter break after 17 games. The league restarts on March 3 when Rostov play Tom Tomsk.

They have previously won the second tier - the Russian National League - in 2008 and won the Russian Cup in 2014.
This is just their fourth season in Europe and is already the furthest they have ever been.
In 1999 and 2000 they were knocked out during the Intertoto Cup and in the 2014/15 season they were knocked out in the play off round by Turkish side Trabzonspor.

Rostov were in the Champions League this season and finished third in a group with Bayern Munich, Atletico Madrid and PSV Eindhoven.
They beat both Ajax and Anderlecht in the Champions League qualifiers.
They beat Sparta Prague in the round of 32 in the Europa League and now face Manchester United.
When do they play Manchester United?
United will travel to Russia on March 9 with the return leg at Old Trafford a week later on March 16.
