Chelsea to complete £10m deal in summer: Star desperate to move
BOURNEMOUTH are reportedly still interested in signing Chelsea back-up goalkeeper Asmir Begovic.
Bournemouth still want Chelsea back-up keeper Asmir Begovic
The Bosnia international was a target for Bournemouth in the final days of the January window, but a move failed to materialise as Chelsea could not recruit a replacement.
The Blues were linked with Celtic No 1 Craig Gordon but the Scottish giants were unwilling to do business.
But The Mirror claim Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe will look to renew his £10million interest in Begovic when the transfer window reopens in the summer.
Eddie Howe desperate to replace Artur Boruc at Bournemouth
Howe has seen his side concede eight goals in their last two Premier League outings with Artur Boruc between the sticks.
Begovic admitted earlier this month that he had hoped to leave Stamford Bridge in January due to his lack of game time.
The 29-year-old has played second fiddle to Thibaut Courtois since joining Chelsea in 2015 and has mainly been limited to cup appearances.
"I think [not playing] bugs every professional," the 29-year-old told talkSPORT after his failed move to Bournemouth.
"The thing that keeps me going is lifting silverware and being in a successful side.
"It bugs me but in terms of moving clubs it's not an option at the moment.
"I know my role in the team and the leadership I can bring. I am fully committed to the team until the end of the season."
