Lothar Matthaus: This is where Mario Gotze should move next - Liverpool held £20m talks
MARIO GOTZE should move to China instead of Liverpool, claims German legend Lothar Matthaus.
Lothar Matthaus has told Borussia Dortmund star Mario Gotze to move to China instead of Liverpool
The 24-year-old was heavily linked with a move to Liverpool in the summer before he left Bayern Munich for a return to Borussia Dortmund.
But Jurgen Klopp, who worked with Gotze for four years during his time as manager of Dortmund, is reportedly ready to renew his interest when the transfer window reopens in the summer.
It is claimed the Reds have already held talks with Gotze's representatives over the weekend about a potential £20million move.

But Matthaus reckons he should consider moving to the Chinese Super League.
“First, leaving Munich and then leaving Dortmund? That can’t be the solution,” Matthaus told Sport Bild.
“And where should he go? To be honest, and even if it might sound rude: If Gotze does not make it at Dortmund, he must go to China.”
Gotze has struggled for form since returning to Dortmund and Matthaus believes he is no longer an option for Liverpool or clubs in Germany either.

Jurgen Klopp could renew his interest in Gotze in the summer
"He won’t leave for Schalke, he does not fit at Leverkusen, Gladbach can’t afford Gotze,” he said.
“Top clubs abroad no longer have him on their lists.
“Like I said: If he does not prevail at Dortmund, and expects similar wages elsewhere, he’s off to China. But that would be pathetic for a 24-year-old.”
Gotze has scored two goals in 16 appearances for Dortmund across all competitions this season and is contracted to the club until June 2020.
