Goals from Arjen Robben, Robert Lewandowski, Thiago (2) and Thomas Muller made it a sorry night for the Premier League side.
And, to make matters worse for Arsenal, Bayern have used Twitter to mock their rivals.

Accompanied with two pictures of the scoreline, the German giants said: "Same again next year," accompanied with a waving emoji.
Bayern have now won six of their 11 Champions League games against Arsenal.
Last night's win was also the second time the Gunners have lost 5-1 to the Bundesliga champions.

Bayern thumped them in the group stages of the competition last season thanks to goals from Lewandowski, Muller (2), David Alaba and Robben.
Carlo Ancelotti lauded his team after the game, saying: "The result is really important, we have the advantage. We have to prepare for the game in London well - we want to play the same as we did tonight.
"We want to avoid problems. This is only one game."
