Former Arsenal striker Wright revealed he had spoken to Arsene Wenger and believed he was 'winded' by criticism and would end his reign this summer after 21 years. Wright later backtracked.
Wenger, whose side beat Hull 2-0, admitted seeing Wright on Thursday but added: "His remarks were not true. I don't know what he said. It was a question and answer session. I could be tired because I get up early in the morning and I finished late at night.

"But I didn't give any indication about my future. Did you talk in private? No, it was questions and answers with members of the Diamond Club. That's in the evening. So there were many people there.
"We (Ian Wright) had a little dinner before but not the two of us, we were four or five.

"Were you misinterpreted? I appreciate very much that you want me to rest absolutely but I'm not ready for that."
Wenger's contract expires this summer and there is still a huge question on whether he will continue following fan abuse.
