Arsene Wenger reveals what Arsenal players did after Chelsea defeat
ARSENE WENGER has confirmed his Arsenal players held a private team meeting after their defeat to Chelsea.
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger will serve the last of a four-match touchline ban against Hull
Arsenal were well-beaten 3-1 at Stamford Bridge on Saturday lunchtime and are now 12 points adrift of the table-topping Blues.
Having lost at home to Watford four days earlier the Gunners needed a response but failed to deliver a big performance to keep their slim title hopes alive.
We all had a good chat among ourselves behind closed doors
In an effort to resolve their dismal run, Arsenal players met to discuss the situation to try and find a solution together, Wenger said in today's pre-match press conference.
It's not the first time the North London outfit have done this.
Arsene Wenger's Arsenal are 12 points behind Chelsea
After a five-match winless run in March 2016, Theo Walcott revealed how a team meeting organised without Wenger's knowledge breathed new life into Arsenal's faltering campaign.
"We all had a good chat among ourselves behind closed doors, without even any of the coaches or the manager knowing about anything," Walcott said at the time.
Costa laughs off suggestion of joining Arsenal
"It's important to know that, as a team, we have got it in us and we just have to produce it more often."
Wenger, who completes the last of his four-match touchline ban when his side host Hull in Saturday's early game, will hope the team meeting yields the same results as last season's.
