An embarrassing induction is usually how new players cement their place in the team, but when the former Arsenal youth’s performance was revealed online, the reaction was more complimentary than cringeworthy.
The midfielder joined Steve Bruce’s club for £3million from Nottingham Forest during the January transfer window two weeks ago.
But, his move was not “officially” completed until Monday night when he was made to stand on a chair in a restaurant and give a rendition of Drake’s “Hold On, We’re Going Home”.

You sing great!
Standing in front of his new teammates, the one-minute video shows the 26-year-old give it all he's got while the baying audience seems more than impressed.
Fellow players can be heard clapping and lauding Lansbury as he returns to his seat after a couple of verses from the Canadian artist.
Despite the confident performance, the new signing took to social media to tell his followers he was “double nervous” about taking part.
The midfielder uploaded the video to his Instagram page
Accompanying the video on Instagram, he captioned it: “When you can’t eat dinner because you’re double nervous to sing to the boys”.
The video gained approval from those commenting on it, one user replied: “You sing great!”
Another chipped in: “Football isn’t the only strong point.”
While another wrote: “Haha they weren’t ready for the vocals fella”.

Lansbury has lauded the praise from his social media followers
The midfielder joined Villa Park on a four-and-a-half year deal from Championship side Nottingham Forest.
After the announcement was made, he told the club's website: “I am delighted to be here at Aston Villa. As soon as I knew Aston Villa were interested, I wanted to come here.
“It's the size and reputation of the football club that attracted me. It's a big, big name in the English game and I can't wait to get started here now.”
