Watford are pushing to land Dutch goalkeeper Krul on a loan deal until the end of the season.
That is according to Sky Sports, who claim Hornets manager Walter Mazzarri has identified Krul as a contender to compete with current No 1 Heurelho Gomes.
However, Watford face a challenge to push the deal through before 11pm tonight.
Krul, 28, is currently on loan at Ajax but is yet to make an appearance for the Amsterdam club.

Newcastle must cancel Krul's loan deal in Holland before he can begin negotiations with Watford.
Krul has not played for Newcastle since October 2015, after rupturing his knee ligaments in a Euro 2016 qualifier for Holland.
