Arsenal News: Wenger reveals plans, defender deal update, midfielder move hint
EXPRESS SPORT brings you the latest Arsenal news.
Arsene Wenger has accepted a misconduct charge from the FA
Arsene Wenger will accept a misconduct charge from the Football Association for his actions in Arsenal’s 2-1 over Burnley.
Wenger is alleged to have used “abusive and/or insulting words” towards fourth official Anthony Taylor after he was sent off by referee Jon Moss.
He is also alleged to have made ‘physical contact’ with Taylor.
“I am big enough to stand up for what I do,” Wenger said about the FA charge ahead of the Gunners’ FA Cup fourth round tie with Southampton.
“When I don’t behave like I think I should behave, I am big enough to say I am not right. I’m a passionate guy and I believe that I am completely committed in my job and want to win the football games.
“I don’t know how I will be punished if I am punished, the only thing I can say is that when I was sent off I was surprised, and I was in the tunnel because I thought I had the right to be the tunnel.”
Carl Jenkinson's proposed move to Crystal Palace has hit a stumbling block
Carl Jenkinson is yet to leave Arsenal for Crystal Palace due to issues over agreeing personal terms, claims Gunners boss Wenger.
Palace are said to have agreed a £7million fee with Arsenal for Jenkinson but have hit a stumbling block in securing a switch for the 24-year-old.
Wenger said: "Only he has to agree personal terms but at the moment he has not managed to do that."
Wenger has denied that he wants to re-sign Serge Gnabry
Arsene Wenger has denied rumours that Arsenal are hoping to re-sign Serge Gnabry from Werder Bremen – for the time being.
Gnabry left Arsenal in the summer to join Werder Bremen and recently said he hasn't ruled out returning to the Emirates in the future.
But Wenger has said Arsenal are not in the market to bring Gnabry back to Arsenal any time soon.
“We’ve sold Gnabry definitely to Bremen,” Wenger said.
“At the time it looked like Bayern were behind it but at the moment we’re not resigning him.”
