Arsenal and Chelsea transfer shock: Legendary defender makes huge claim
AC MILAN legend Paolo Maldini has revealed he turned down the opportunity to sign for Chelsea and Arsenal.

Paolo Maldini spent 25 years with AC Milan, making over 800 appearances for his hometown club.
However, it was not always plain sailing at the San Siro for the defender and he has revealed Chelsea and Arsenal both came in for him.
The 48-year-old has admitted when Milan were going through a rocky spell the Premier League duo swooped, but he turned them both down.

"I received two offers in the mid-1990s," Maldini said.
"One from Chelsea and the other from Arsenal.
"In those years Milan had two seasons with a few problems, but I never intended to leave.
"We met for the contract renewal and both said we wanted to continue together."
Maldini stayed on at the San Siro and went on to win seven Serie A titles and five Champions League trophies before his retirement in 2009.
He also earned 126 caps for Italy.
