The former Arsenal youngster has entered the final six months of his Nottingham Forest contract and has attracted a host of interest since the start of January.
And according to Sky Sports, Aston Villa boss Steve Bruce has made a £3million bid for the Forest captain to boost his side's promotion bid.

Villa are expected to announce the £6m departure of striker Rudy Gestede to Middlesbrough today and are keen to reinvest the money to sign Lansbury.
Bruce recently admitted that a midfielder is high up on his January wish list, along with another defender.
When asked about Gestede's potential move to Boro, he said: "I've got six centre forwards and I've got to maybe sell one to buy in a midfield player or another defender."

Villa's local rivals Birmingham are said to have ended their interest in Lansbury, while Derby have reportedly had a £2.5m bid for him turned down by Forest.
The 26-year-old, who has scored three goals and provided three assists this season, helped West Ham achieve promotion on loan in the 2011/12 campaign.
Bruce's Villa currently sit 12th in the Championship table, seven points off the play-offs after 25 games.
