Dimitri Payet contacted over shock West Ham transfer
MARSEILLE have today contacted Dimitri Payet’s representatives over a possible January move for the West Ham player.

That is according to French newspaper La Provence, who claim Marseille are pushing had to land the playmaker.
Payet remained at West Ham this season after being linked with a move away from the club last summer.
But the France international has endured a mixed campaign so far and was substituted in today’s 2-0 defeat to Manchester United.
The report is an additions from claims this morning by French newspaper L’Equipe that suggested Marseille are serious about landing Payet.
Payet last year signed a £125,000-a-week contract at the Hammers to all but close the door on him moving away on the cheap.
Marseille would have to pay big money for the 29-year-old and there are doubts the club could meet West Ham’s demands, let alone the player’s.

In a recent interview with French TV station SFR Sport, Payet said: “I am not closing the door to anything.
“Marseille have a new project which seems interesting.
“Aside from that, we are obviously waiting to see the first few things that the new owners do, but Marseille knows how attached I am to the club.
“When I talk about it, I say the best possible things, because that is what I think, so why not.”
