Manchester United 4 – Newcastle United 3: Javier Hernandez steals it at the death
Javier Hernandez scored in stoppage time to extend Manchester United’s lead at the top of the Premier League table to seven points in 2012.
The Mexico international – now at Bayer Leverkusen – stabbed home Michael Carrick’s pinpoint cross in stoppage time.
James Perch gave Newcastle an early lead, only for Jonny Evans to equalise but then head into his own net.
Patrice Evra and Papiss Ciise then exchanged blows before Robin van Persie hauled United back to 3-3.
Hernandez then stepped up to send Old Trafford wild and put United on course to title number 20.

Hull 2 – Manchester United 3: Wayne Rooney heroics complete stunning comeback
David Moyes’ United career was already in deep trouble when the Red Devils travelled to Hull on Boxing Day three years ago.
And things quickly went from bad to worse as goals from James Chester and David Meyler gave the home side a shock lead.
However, United showed they still possessed some of the fight they had under Sir Alex Ferguson with Chris Smalling heading them back into contention.
Wayne Rooney then hit a stunning leveller from over 20 yards out, securing his 150th league goal for United in the process.
And the comeback was completed when Chester headed into his own net with Rooney hot on his heels.

Manchester United 5 – Wigan 0: Dimitar Berbatov lights up Old Trafford with hat-trick
United move level on points with Premier League leaders Manchester City with an emphatic win over Wigan on Boxing Day 2011.
Park Ji-Sung opened the scoring early on with Wigan’s Conor Sammon then dismissed for catching Michael Carrick in the face.
Berbatov – who had fallen behind the likes of Rooney, Hernandez and Danny Welbeck in the pecking order – then bagged a quick brace to put the game to bed.
Antonio Valencia blasted a fourth into the top corner and the sublime Berbatov completed his hat-trick from the penalty spot.
The Bulgarian would later join Fulham in the summer after four successful years at Old Trafford.
Sunderland 0 – Manchester United 4: Cristiano Ronaldo bags brilliant free-kick in rout
Cristiano Ronaldo scored a sensational free-kick as United took another step towards the title with a thumping win away at Sunderland.
Rooney opened the scoring for the defending champions by slotting past Black Cats goalkeeper Craig Gordon.
The United striker then turned provider for his team’s second, setting up Louis Saha who volleyed into the bottom corner.
Ronaldo then had his moment just before half time, curling an unstoppable free kick into the top corner leaving Gordon rooted to the spot.
United eased off after the break but their was still time for one final swansong with Saha grabbing a second of the day from the penalty spot.

Manchester United 3 – Everton 2: David Bellion scores winner to unstick Toffees
Ferguson rested a host of top stars with Ruud van Nistelrooy, Paul Scholes and Ryan Giggs rested for the December 26 game with Everton in 2003.
And the decision to do so paid off with United returning to the top of the table with an important victory.
Nicky Butt opened the scoring for Ferguson’s men before Everton equalised courtesy of a Gary Neville own goal.
United then showed their title credentials with flop duo Kleberson and David Bellion getting on the scoresheet.
Duncan Ferguson halved the deficit for Everton in stoppage time but it was not enough to nick a point.
