MANCHESTER UNITED are considering a January swoop for Benfica centre-back Victor Lindelof, according to reports.
Manchester United have scouted Benfica centre-back Victor Lindelof
The Manchester Evening News claim Manchester United scouts were in attendance to watch Lindelof during Benfica's clash with Sporting Lisbon on Sunday.
Lindelof, 22, played the full 90 minutes and delivered another assured performance to help the Portuguese champions to a 2-1 victory.
I think Victor Lindelof is doing great things
The report claims Jose Mourinho is looking to bolster his defence with Eric Bailly potentially missing nine matches due to the Africa Cup of Nations, and Lindelof is on his shortlist.
He joined Benfica from Swedish outfit Vasteras in 2011 and has since cemented himself as a first-team regular, helping them to two Primeira Liga titles.
Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who played alongside Lindelof at Euro 2016, praised the defender for his ability and claimed he was good enough for a move to a big club.
