Stan Collymore: This is why I think Loris Karius is making so many mistakes for Liverpool
LORIS KARIUS shouldn’t be solely blamed for his Liverpool clangers.
Loris Karius - 5 things you need to know
Those are the thoughts of former Liverpool star Stan Collymore.
Karius has been in the spotlight of late, and was criticised by Sky Sports pundit Jamie Carragher for the blunder he made in the Reds’ 4-3 defeat away to Bournemouth eight days ago.
On Sunday, Karius was unable to keep out Dimitri Payet’s rather saveable 25-yard free-kick during his side’s 2-2 draw against West Ham at Anfield.

Nowadays their breed is dying out, maybe it’s already dead
But Collymore thinks defenders are the real culprits insofar as to why there are more individual goalkeeping errors.
“Shkodran Mustafi, Laurent Koscielny, Toby Alderweireld, Jan Vertonghen… these types of defender — decent centre-halves who can pop the ball around and play it if it comes to them — were two a penny,” Collymore wrote in his column for the Daily Mirror.
“Steve Bruce and Gary Pallister were proper defenders but they could both play as well, Bruce in particular.

“Nowadays their breed is dying out, maybe it’s already dead, so it’s no wonder keepers are feeling more exposed than ever.”
Liverpool’s draw against the Hammers leaves them six points behind Premier League table toppers Chelsea in third spot.
Jurgen Klopp will be hoping his side can end their mini blip away to Middlesbrough on Wednesday (7:45pm).
