Burnley 3 - Bournemouth 2: George Boyd scores winner as Clarets continue fine form
ONCE again, a Bournemouth defender popped up with a dramatic injury-time goal.
George Boyd fired Burnley up to 13th in the league table
But this time it was all in vain.
Nathan Ake bagged a memorable winner against Liverpool last week. Charlie Daniels’ spectacular strike against Bournemouth was just a consolation goal in another thriller.
So Jurgen Klopp’s conquerors were sunk as Burnley showed why they have a better home record than both Manchester clubs.
“Our home form has been really good,” said boss Sean Dyche.
Benik Afobe struck to get Bournemouth back into the game
Burnley’s opening goal was stunning, Jeff Hendrick letting fly from long-range, sending a spectacular volley flying past Artur Boruc after being picked out by Matt Lowton.
"It is just a shame we aren’t Arsenal so it won’t be shown 1,000 times, just four,” added Dyche.
Burnley added a second in four minutes when Stephen Ward ended a four-year, 11-month wait for a Premier League goal after Boruc saved from an unmarked Ben Mee.
“Criminal defending,” said Bournemouth boss Eddie Howe.

Jeff Hendrick fired Burnley in front with a stunning strike
But his side pegged Burnley back when Benik Afobe scored his first league goal since March to complete a move begun by Ryan Fraser, leaving Dyche complaining too much time was added at the end of the first half.
Sub Andre Gray set up George Boyd to hammer home Burnley’s third goal.
Still Bournemouth were not finished, with Daniels scoring late but Howe said: “We don’t want to become a team that just plays well when chasing the game.”
