STEVEN GERRARD believes Arsenal's summer signings have made them a much tougher side.
Ex-Arsenal player Lukas Podolski becomes RAP KING
Arsene Wenger spent heavily during the summer to help the Gunners towards their first Premier League title since 2004.
Defender Shkodran Mustafi joined from Valenica in a £35million deal and midfielder Granit Xhaka arrived from Borussia Monchengladbach for around £30m.
Rob Holding and Lucas Perez also joined the north London club.

I think looking at the strongest XI now on paper they look tougher
Arsenal are already benefiting from their new signings, as they helped the Gunners finish top of their Champions League group last night following a 4-1 win against Basel.
And Gerrard has been impressed with the new boys, along with 2015 acquisition Petr Cech.
"There's been areas of the Arsenal team that are not good enough, [but] I think Arsene Wenger has bought well," Gerrard told BT Sport.
Granit Xhaka has impressed since joining Arsenal in the summer
"I think looking at the strongest XI now on paper they look tougher, certainly through the spine.
"They've bought a couple of big defenders, and I think now Petr Cech being there for a couple of years.
"He's huge, especially when you go into the latter stages of this competition, you need a strong back five."
