They have the fourth-worst discipline record in the top flight, with 30 yellow cards and one red after 13 league games.
But Mourinho refused to blame Rooney for his "mistakes" in drawing another booking.

Rooney has struggled to get into the Man United team in recent weeks
Rooney was booked for the fifth time this season on Wednesday
"Wayne's absence comes in the sequence of the yellow cards that stopped Ibra playing against Arsenal," Mourinho told MUTV.
"The sequence of yellow cards that stopped Marouane Fellaini and Paul Pogba playing against West Ham.
"But, okay, everybody makes mistakes and [it's] no problem."
