Liverpool talisman offered transfer advice: This is how far he can go under Jurgen Klopp
PHILIPPE COUTINHO is best staying at Liverpool to continue his development under Jurgen Klopp.
Philippe Coutinho's best goals for Liverpool
Those are the thoughts of Barcelona legend Xavi.
Recent reports have suggested Klopp is concerned by Barca’s growing interest in the Brazilian playmaker.
However, it is thought the Liverpool manager is plotting a move for Arda Turan to shore up his midfield, as his side chase a maiden Premier League title.
Xavi, who is currently plying his trade in Qatar, has watched Coutinho’s progress from afar.

Coutinho is a player I have always thought is special - but under Klopp he has gone up another level
And he is convinced Coutinho will only continue to make strides in the game if he stays at Anfield.
“Coutinho is a player I have always thought is special - but under Klopp he has gone up another level,” Xavi said.
“On form there are not any better midfield players in Europe.
“He has always shown quality but now he is consistently playing well and that is good news for Liverpool if they want to really challenge for the title.
“He is playing under one of the most intelligent coaches in Europe.
Xavi attained legendary status at Barcelona
“Klopp has a lot of experience at developing world-class players, so it is a good club for him to be at.”
But Xavi admits Coutinho is the sort of player that would fit in well at Nou Camp.
“When you play at the level he is there is always going to be talk, but for now he needs to ignore all that and stay focused, because I think Liverpool have a real chance this season,” Xavi added.
“There are not many players that can improve Barcelona, but if you are asking me if he is one of them, on this form, I think he is.
“Technically he is very good. He would suit Barcelona’s philosophy well.”
Liverpool face Southampton on Saturday (3pm).
