Manchester United coach Rui Faria gives sarcastic response when asked about referee
RUI FARIA has praised referee Mark Clattenburg after Manchester United slumped to a goalless draw against Burnley.
Manchester United coach Rui Faria praised referee Mark Clattenburg
Clattenburg was the villain of Old Trafford after sending manager Jose Mourinho to the stands at half time.
He then dismissed Ander Herrera in the second half, giving the Spaniard a second yellow for a foul on Dean Marney.
But, instead of criticising the referee, Faria was full of praise.
"I don't know what happened," he told BBC Sport when asked about Mourinho's half-time dismissal.

I think the referee did fantastic work. I won't say more than this
"It is not important what Jose said, what is important is what the referee writes in his report.
"I think the referee did fantastic work. I won't say more than this.
"The people in the stadium could feel that the players gave everything. We fought until the last second. We have to keep working and things will happen.
"Sometimes you create only a few chances and score them all, others you create lots and don't score any. This is football."

Manchester United fan SLAMS performance as RUBBISH
Burnley goalkeeper Tom Heaton made a string of saves to deny the likes of Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Paul Pogba and Juan Mata.
Mata and Ibrahimovic also struck the woodwork as they hunted for an elusive winner.
Faria was happy with Manchester United's display but hinted Herrera's red card hampered them.
"I think we need to congratulate the boys, it was a fantastic performance. With 11 men we dominated the game, created opportunities, but did not score," he added.
"Even with 10 men we controlled the game. Our players were fantastic with their belief, attitude and fight."
