Everton boss Ronald Koeman confirms interest in signing Man United star Wayne Rooney
RONALD KOEMAN has said he would be interested in bringing Wayne Rooney back to Everton if he decides to quit Manchester United.

Rooney’s future is under scrutiny after losing his place for club and country during a difficult start to the season.
The striker, who launched his career with Everton before moving to Manchester United in 2004, has been linked with a switch to the MLS at the end of the season.
But Everton manager Koeman insisted he would be interested in recruiting the 31-year-old.

"First of all, he's a great player - he's still not finished his career,” said Koeman. “I don't know what his situation is, I need to respect his situation. That's not my problem.
"If there is a possibility that Rooney is an option for Everton, I'd say 'yes, please'."
Koeman insists the criticism of Rooney goes with the territory after a glittering career.

"That's football,” he said. “That's part of football. He is enough of an experienced player and person that he knows what can happen.
"Everyone gets periods of criticism. It's part of the business and you need to stay calm and that's the best thing you can do."
