Leeds coach backs this striker to destroy Championship clubs
CHRIS WOOD still has a lot more to offer Leeds this season, according to the club’s first-team coach James Beattie.
James Beattie backs Chris Wood to destroy Championship clubs
The New Zealand international has found the back of the net seven times in 13 appearances this season, with Leeds yet to lose in each game he's scored.
And first-team coach Beattie, who scored 133 goals during his playing career as a striker, believes Wood is capable of 'destroying' defences in the Championship.
Wood, 24, arrived at Elland Road a year ago from Leicester for a reported £3million and bagged 13 goals in his debut season.
“Everybody’s seen a good improvement but Chris Wood at this level should be destroying teams,” Beattie told the Yorkshire Evening Post.
“He’s so physically strong; a beast, really. Of course there are areas where he can improve but he sees that himself.
James Beattie says Chris Wood is very 'coachable'
“He’s a very coachable player. There’s a lot more to come from Chris, he’s a really nice lad off the pitch but I think he can be more aggressive on it and you’ve seen a bit more of that recently.
Leeds endured a difficult start to the campaign but have since moved up to 11th in the table after winning four of their last five league games.
